 Professor Joseph Camilleri

is Professor of International Relations and founding Director of the Centre for Dialogue, La Trobe University, and a Fellow of the Australian Academy of Social Sciences. He chairs the Editorial Committee of the scholarly journal Global change, Peace and Security.

Recent books include:

  • Democratizing Global Governance (Palgrave Macmillan 2002)

Professor Camilleri has been actively involved on issues of human rights, intercultural dialogue, development, environment, and security. He has given evidence to several government enquiries, and participated in numerous national and international conferences. He is the recipient of many national and international grants and awards, including St Michael’s Award for distinguished service to the community, and the Victorian Government’s Award for his contribution to multicultural harmony.

Professor Jim Falk

is the foundation Director of the Australian Centre for Science, Innovation and Society (ACSIS) and Convenor of the Climate Adaptation Science and Policy Initiative (CASPI) at the University of Melbourne. He is Director of Climate Change research for the Association of Pacific Rim Universities World Institute, a Visiting Professor to the United Nations University, and and Emeritus Professor of the University of Wollongong.

Prior to taking up his position at the University of Melbourne Professor Falk was Deputy Vice-Chancellor at Victoria University in Melbourne, Pro Vice-Chancellor (Academic) at the University of Western Sydney, Nepean.

 His books include:

 Professor Falk’s PhD is in theoretical physics, but over the last 30 years he has specialised in the study of the nature, impact and management of science and technology in their social contexts.  His research has focussed particularly on issues associated with globalisation, technological change and the environment, nuclear technology, arms races and militarisation, and information and communication technology in their social settings.
